Fundacja Nowoczesna Polska is one of the leading organisations promoting innovative educational methods, supporting development of digital, media and information literacy competences as well as educating Polish citizens on the intellectual property laws.
The most important projects of the Foundation are:
- Media Literacy (http://edukacjamedialna.edu.pl) – the on-line source of educational materials for teachers, librarians and youh workers to popularize the digital and media education for children and youth. Our aim is to educate conscious media users. Supported by experts, we prepared a catalogue of media and information literacy competences approved by the Polish National Commission for UNESCO as a significant input into UNESCO IFAP (Information For All Program). We implement media education training in schools, community centers and libraries. We organise training for teachers, librarians and other youth workers.
- Right to Culture (http://prawokultury.pl) – the project includes activities aimed at helping understand the current copyright laws by conducting the debate on the shape of the legal and social system governing the field of culture.
- Free Readings (https://wolnelektury.pl) – the online library open 24/7, 365 days per year, available in every place in the world. It contains over 3200 works pertaining to the canon of the classic Polish and foreign literature from the public domain.
School involved in the Polish Consortium is Gimnazjum nr 1 z Oddziałammi Integracyjny w Bytomiu – school in Silesia Region for youth in the age of 13-16.
School gives diverse opportunity for youth: there are class which give youth possibility to develop their creativity, other where they focus on media and language, on sport activity as well few integrated classes. School realises projects for local community: club of voluntary service.
